Central Lechera Asturiana follows a circular economy model to fight against climate change that involves all stakeholders. Central Lechera Asturiana is the first Spanish company to have the AENOR Circular Economy Strategy certificate.

It protects the environment by consuming only what is essential to provide you with the best dairy foods with minimal waste. It thus reduces as much waste as possible and what cannot be reduced is transformed into new raw materials to keep them in the economy for as long as possible.

Central Lechera Asturiana is the first Spanish dairy brand with the AENOR Zero Waste certificate and the first Spanish company to have achieved a zero carbon footprint from its direct emissions in all factories, also certified by AENOR. The company’s commitment to the circular economy starts on farms and ends in waste recovery to restart the process.

Seventy-five percent of the energy consumed by Central Lechera Asturiana farms is of renewable origin, and this will reach 100% before 2025.

Efficient transport

Central Lechera Asturiana’s new tanks enable the litres of milk collected per km travelled to be increased by more than 40%.

Central Lechera Asturiana co-generates 99% of the electricity consumed by its plants and offices and has reduced its water consumption ratio by 10% in four years.

The company has doubled the use of natural gas lorries and implemented supertracks to optimise trips, reducing CO2 emissions by 20%.

Recovery

Zero waste

Central Lechera Asturiana recovers 95% of its waste. It is the first dairy company to have Zero Waste and Zero Carbon Footprint certificates.
