Cooperative
Farmers, in the centre
Central Lechera Asturiana has brought together the largest dairy cooperative in Spain since 1969. Six thousand farming families united and fighting to keep livestock farms, the social fabric and their environment alive in order to offer quality dairy products while preserving all of their essence and flavour. Their way of life and the care they provide to their cows enables them to produce some 900 million litres of milk per year, which is a great commitment to food supply and an example of success for farmers in Spain.
EMPLOYMENT
Central Lechera Asturiana is part of the engine of the rural economy
Its farms, located in rural areas, prevent depopulation and contribute to generating wealth and employment. It directly employs and generates more than 7,300 jobs in the sector linked to production, industry and management, which revitalises and populates the rural environment.
It is a vocation that is forged from childhood and is nurtured every work day, with effort, passion and for a single purpose: to produce the best milk.
Central Lechera Asturiana takes care of its farmers
Guaranteeing farmers’ sustainability and the generational change implies dignifying their work and improving their profitability. Central Lechera Asturiana therefore guarantees the collection of 100% of their production and milk price stability in Spain.
Caring for and maintaining 7,000 members represents, without a doubt, an economic engine for rural areas of Asturias and supports the social and economic maintenance of an entire country.
